Surgery Done!

Long absence! I'm in a hard cast. The 3 surgeries are done on my right hand, but the carpal tunnel redo was not what I expected. When the dressing came off, while I don't normally faint, I did get really sick to my stomach. What should have been 2 stitches turned out to be 12. The scar is ugly and raised and my DIL says she'll be surprised if the whole thing isn't one big keloid. But it needed to be done. The thumb is fixed, too! Yay!  The cast comes off early November. That will be like an early Christmas present...but I do have a bright green cast!  LOL!  I'm not being the best patient, supposed to rest the hand, but have tried to do a little bit of art work. Surprising how tired and sore the hand gets. I usually require a pain pill by day's end. Tells you how bad I am! So I made a little Halloween treat for my GF in Chicago and for Moonlight Journey who have been very patient with me through all my absences!  Missed everyone!  Ok, enough typing, time for the pain pill.  Take care...love to all!

So nice to hear from you, Lynne...You certainly have gone through a lot and I hope you will be back to your 'old self' soon. Carpel Tunnel is something I can empathize with you. Have had it for years....was scheduled many years ago for surgery to begin on one wrist, to then be followed by the other when I read in the newspaper that there was an outbreak of the 'flesh-eating disorder" at the very hospital I was scheduled to have it done the very next day. I immediately cancelled the surgery and have never progressed to enough courage to have it done. I have had a number of real bad periods but I use my braces when I sleep, shop, etc. when that happens and refrain from liftin much. I use a Canadian product called "A535" and that has helped me immensely over the years. My MIL had hers done years ago and she has terrible 'raised' scaring as a result. I hope you will take it slowly and get yourself healed without any additional problems. Be well, friend. Look forward to hearing from you with an update now and then. Hugs, Gayle (in Canada).

Oh my dear, you have had a bad time of it....I'm sorry you lost your Mum, I know how hard that is. And all the trouble with surgery and pain. It can all be frightening too, wondering if it will ever end... I do feel for you. Thank you so much for your visit. It's really wonderful to hear from you.
Now you just take good care of you and rest up and get well and you'll soon be creating your lovely pieces again.
Great big hugs,
June xxx

It is wonderful to hear from you dear Lynn AND even nicer to see you able to make some art again.
What a special gift for your friend = Love it!
I know it is not easy for independent types to take it slow, but healing sometimes takes time and is worth it in the end...
Take Care and I hope your recovery is speedy and that you'll be better than new!

Lynnie.....I'm so happy the surgery is done and that you are on the mend. Wondered where you were and not the mystery is solved!
Seems that 2012 has been a rough year for you, my friend. With loosing your Mom and now this surgery, you've surely had an overflow of pain.
Sending you healing and sweet hugs to you via the blog. Wish I could help you somehow, but know that I DO think of you and wish that 2013 is a far better year.
Make some art, have a lovely cup of tea and be well.
Love
