Here's a little card that I gessoed (and did bodily harm to myself with a large, full bottle of gesso!) then I painted with sapphire and pink acrylic paint. Dabbed some ink over sequin waste and used some more gesso (scraped off my leg!) Maya Road stamps...and Tim Holtz grunge stuff (sorry, meds are kicking in) and came up with my interpretation of this challenge. Thanks for looking!

i really like that background - and i hope you have a source for cheap gesso ;)
Lynn, I am a bit of a splasher, always hitting the colour burn or the brightness and contrast to make my pictures that much brighter. Then I see your delicate and exquisite and SOFT creations and I tell myself "I would love to do that" - and I would if I were not so ham-fisted!!
Can you tell that I love your tiny blue bird in his gilded cage? Fantastic.
Delightful piece, Lynn, love the 'bird in the gilded cage!'
