At first, I didn't know if I'd participate, but then I found myself coating watercolor paper with gesso, then Golden irridescent fine gold, Nickel Azo Gold, copper and some silver, then I covered it all with black gesso and rubbed some off before it dried. I put on my image and began applying glitter...there's glitter at the top, around the figure, on her and around the Happy Mardi Gras words. And last but not least, the feathers at the top. And viola, there's the arch I didn't think would happen

what a gorgeous arch! love the techniques you used and the feather is such a lovely embellishment! :)
This is really opulent looking - really in the spirit! Great arch. Lol Lynn x
Lynn, sometimes the muse just needs priming a little. This certainly turned out gorgeous. The double gesso and lots of metal color is a technique I'd not thought of.
Thanks for your kind comments on my arch. The diffused look is because I took the photo and made a b&w, and used my photoshop elements to fuzz it up a bit and to make it sepia. Also, there was a lot in the pic I didn't want, so i used the brush tool to dab around on the pic.
I love your arch Lyn, those feathers are an inspiration, they really set the whole thing off to perfection. And the face - well, where did you find such a gem??
Thats what you call a Happy Accident...don't you just love the twists and turns that come along with creating?!
