Earlier this week, I was in my car at a stoplight, when my car started bucking...sideways. At first I thought the old girl had developed a problem, but then I realized it wouldn't be shaking sideways! I didn't hear the roar cause the car next to me was trying to share some downright ugly noise with the world. I figured an earthquake hit. When I got to the vet, the ladies were all freaking out. I have to admit, I lived in California for a few years and never felt an earthquake like this one. Interesting factoid: did you know there are about 200 earthquakes per day anywhere in the world? But, in the meantime, we've had 8 aftershocks...2 of which I definitely felt!
And now Hurricane Irene is bearing down on us. We're in a tropical storm warning, but Ocean City, Maryland has evacuated! I understand she's lashing NC and SC now. They think the storm will hit us tomorrow evening. Went to the store last night and most of the batteries were gone, the bread aisle had crumbs, there were a few cases of bottled water left, but milk and other supplies were in good shape...oh yes, oddly enough, cookies were in low supply! Wegman's is a great grocery store...their employees were bringing out more foodstuffs left and right...trust me, I nearly got nailed by one of their big carts! But my hat's off to them.
So to all my friends on the East Coast, fingers crossed, be safe and see you on the other side...I'm not ready to go to Kansas yet!
