More Halloween!

Gothic arches...I love making them! Here's a Witchy I did for a swap I hosted. I had a great time slapping on paint and then adding elements. Now I wish I had made a second for myself! Maybe I will when the granddaughter goes home this evening. She'll be a witchy, too. I couldn't help but smile when she modeled the boots that complete her costume :o)

Halloween!

I love Halloween! Can't resist decorating the whole house, every year I end up buying new things to put out. Creating art is lots of fun, too! For the "Think Monday ATC" challenge, I'm offering an ATC I made for a swap. I call it "She Waits".

Sunday Postcard

The theme is Marie Antoinette...interesting, eh? I pulled out my Golden paints and just had at it. And Happy Birthday, Mandy!!!

We had our first hard frost last night...my car is covered in a lovely Jack Frost design. And our leaves are beautiful this year. Time for a drive to the Shenandoah this weekend!

Patchwork Paper

Gothic Arches theme this week is Patchwork Paper. Interesting! All of the arches I viewed are stunning! I certainly did a lot of patching with paper to create mine. I found this wonderful picture of 6 men in top hats and I couldn't resist using it in some fashion...well, patchwork paper was the perfect venue for my 6 gentlemen.

Men

Sunday Postcard Art...I decided to try the postcard size, I don't think I've ever given it a go before. The theme is "Men". You know, most of the art done is of women or children. I liked this paper I had...and the theme just seemed to lend itself to it. It was nice having the day off, afforded the opportunity to catch up on art and chores. Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends!

Haute Couture

Well, time for a new arch...haute couture. I followed traditional lines, I think...but I have an idea for another arch for this theme, just don't have the time right now (2 a.m....what am I doing up so late? Watching John Wayne's "North to Alaska" - one of my favorites!)

Windy Moon

Here I go trying another challenge. I'm going to post my "Windy Moon" ATC...I smooched around inks for my background and used my finger to create the moon. The stamp has been designed by the late Gwen Frostic - here's her website: http://www.gwenfrostic.com/

I love this stamp...it's so evocative of wild nature, where you learn to be quiet with yourself and just be.

Let's Do Paris!

Oohh La La! I went to Paris to make this week's Gothic Arch. The theme is Turquoise...a perfectly Paris color. I made one arch and it just fell flat on its...side??? Well, tonight Paris came out and surprised me. I enjoyed the piece...it's nice when you don't struggle over a piece. Struggling is ok, from it you learn, but I like when a piece just comes together sweetly, don't you?

Happy October

The air has turned deservedly cool and crisp. The leaves are just barely tipped in red and orange. My busy month at work is over, but October means it starts all over again! Hopefully, although renewing contracts and standing up new ones won't be as time and labor intensive as September. Little by little I'm finding time for art. I just made an ATC and think it's okay. At least I'm creating!
